This past Sunday July 4, 2021, Central London Humanists organised a picnic at Hyde Park for humanist members, family and supporters to finally meet again in person, eat and drink, and to celebrate the change of season from Spring to Summer. The belated celebration came 2 weeks later than originally planned because the picnic had to be postponed from its original date due to weather conditions.
We had a really lovely time under a gazebo at the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park. Everyone brought food and drink, and some even baked and made brownies and cake to share with everyone. It was lovely to see familiar faces again, but also to meet old and new members who we had only had contact with online.
Attendees told us that it was a great picnic, that they thoroughly enjoyed it and that it was a beautiful thing to see so many of us together after so long. We really had a wonderful time!
To all those who missed a great day out, don’t despair. There'll be many more in-person activities coming soon!
Thanks so much to our members and collaborators Steve, Sapna and Andy for organising a great event.
